Ok so Iam writing a preview post after a long long time(and i guess a little too early too considering the date of the match)..You know it sort of seems funny..Iam writing more articles these days when iam supposed to be short on time..anyways The Match now..Well we've had a number 'season defining' games so far and frankly we havent got anything out of any of them..This one again falls into that category..perhaps because Aston Villa have performed really well this season and Chelsea have been mediocore(so far!!) and moreover its Defining because Aston Villa are above Chelsea in the Premier League table right now..now this will be Hiddink's first game in charge and he couldnt have wished for anything worse..First up he's having to face the team thats just above us in the table..he should see it as an opportunity though..if Chelsea are to get a convincing win over Aston Villa and climb back above them,Hiddink would be an instant hit..so that could help..anyways Aston Villa's FA Cup exit at the hands of Everton should have lowered their morale a bit..but with a manager like Martin O'Neal you can never underestimate the team..
Joe Cole,Carvalho and Essien(btw he's back in training) should all miss out as usual..but JT will be back after completing his suspension..In the midfield I guess its going to be the same Kalou, Lampard, Mikel, Ballack/Deco(lets see who Hiddink favours more)..I wouldnt be surprised to see Quaresma/Stoch either..Up front Anelka and Drogba worked great in the last match and Iam sure Hiddink will persist with them with Di Santo maybe making a late appearence..Now the problem with Chelsea this season has been their inability to break down deep defending teams (which is something I attribute fully to Scolari's single striker policy), Aston Villa Iam sure are not one of these teams esp when they're above us in the table..So i feel it will be a really entertaining match-up..
My prediction- 2-1 to Chelsea
